Business Specialist (Hybrid) Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Position 106 Group has an immediate opening for an experienced Business Specialist. They will be responsible for managing and performing business responsibilities for a national consulting company. This position is fast paced and interactive and involves working collaboratively with others to administer and execute the contracting process, and facilitate and perform accounting, finance, human resources, travel, business, and office management responsibilities.

Requirements  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management, accounting, law, or a closely related field.  Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications.  Demonstrated time management skills and ability to complete tasks within assigned schedule.  Be detailed and process oriented.  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.  Ability to work individually and as a team.  Ability to adapt quickly, work well under pressure, and manage multiple tasks/priorities.  Ability to multi-task and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.  Valid driver’s license and ability to reliably commute to 106 Group office.

Additional experience valued or preferred:  Good working knowledge of current information technologies.  Experience in small business/nonprofits.

Compensation The 106 Group offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 plus benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities Under the direction of the General Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing accounting, finance, human resources, travel arrangements, contracting, and office management. Responsibilities include:  Human Resources Administration: Develop, implement, and administer HR strategies, policies, and procedures. Oversee recruitment and talent acquisition processes. Ensure compliance with labor laws, handling employee relations, and managing disciplinary procedures when necessary. Oversee compensation and benefits administration. Maintain employee handbooks and other related HR documentation.  Contract Administration: Work collaboratively with other staff to process our client and partner contracts. This involves creating, reviewing, analyzing, and tracking contracts using existing templates and checklists. You will also help improve and oversee the contracting process.  Policy and Compliance: Assist with developing and implementing company policies and processes, ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws. Stay informed about industry trends, employment legislation, and best practices.  Business Operations: Oversee day-to-day business operations, assist with developing, and implementing operational policies, procedures, and workflows that promote efficiency and effectiveness. Coordinate and manage commercial insurance and business certifications. Process payroll and monthly client invoices. Liaise with bank as needed and CPA for month-end, year-end and taxes. Complete all business-related tasks assigned. Be a resource for project management budgets and project process. Assist with other tasks as needed to support other teams, colleagues, and managers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have business experience in consulting, small business, or nonprofit organizations. We seek an organized individual with a good eye for detail, excellent communication and management skills, who works collaboratively with colleagues and can adapt to the challenges of a fast-paced consulting company.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business management or accounting, and at least five years of related work experience.
