Full Time, exempt Reports to Development Manager Other staff with significant interaction include the Executive Director, Visitor Services & Operations Director, marketing department, and other positions focused on programming and operations Office located in White Bear Lake, MN, with one day of remote work per week

About Us White Bear Center for the Arts is a growing nonprofit community art center, offering more than 1,100 classes and 10 gallery shows per year in its newly-expanded campus. WBCA is a diverse and expanding community widely known for enriching lives, nourishing imagination, and building understanding through its innovative arts programming. It currently enjoys more than 1,700 members and boasts classes in a wide variety of art mediums and techniques. The outcomes of the Development & Membership Associate position will ensure access to the arts for all who wish to participate. Donor and membership support provide a gateway for others in the community to share their financial resources, which strengthens the fabric of the community and has a positive impact on the lives of others through WBCA.

Why This Job is Important

White Bear Center for the Arts seeks an energetic, organized and results-oriented nonprofit professional with a deep interest in advancing WBCA’s growth trajectory and membership experience. This position reports to the Development Manager. This role will be responsible for helping to develop and execute WBCA’s membership goals and development strategies.

Like most nonprofits, WBCA relies heavily upon contributions from its stakeholders; this role will largely work towards ensuring that WBCA’s memberships continue to serve both the members and the organization, in addition to growing WBCA’s donor pool and improving the donor experience.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing for WBCA

Membership (45%) Overseeing WBCA’s membership program, including its presence on-site, online, and in WBCA printed materials. Implementing new strategies for supporting and growing WBCA membership, such as membership cards, members-only perks, and reminder emails. Identifying and implementing new opportunities, including member benefits and events, to ensure continued membership. Soliciting membership renewals, including but not limited to multiple monthly letters and emails. Regularly connect with new and renewing members via phone to express WBCA’s appreciation for their support.

Development (45%) Entering all gifts into WBCA’s constituent database, NeonCRM. Processing WBCA’s donor acknowledgment letters. Supporting annual fundraising events and campaigns, such as Heart 4 Art (spring) and Year-End Giving (fall). Creating and introducing a “moves management system” to ensure that donors are continuously invited to move higher on the donor cycle. Developing a “best in class” stewardship model for WBCA’s donors. Leading the coordination and creation of annual H4A video with videography team, with support from the communications & marketing team. Coordinate with Development Manager to connect monthly with donors who have made recent gifts to WBCA to express WBCA’s appreciation for their support.

Budget Management (<5%) Work with Development Manager and Executive Director to set and inform WBCA annual membership and development budgets. Manage and report spending against budget; report on spending as requested.

General Workplace Responsibilities (<5%) Attend and participate in WBCA activities/events as needed. Other duties as assigned.
