ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the agency budget, leading organizational financial strategy, and managing the finance and accounting functions of the organization which include grants management, third party and self-pay patient billing systems, and private contributions and grants.

LOCATION: Hybrid – This role allows for a mix of onsite and remote work, based on the needs of the organization. Employees are required to be fully onsite during the initial 3-month training period.

PAY & BENEFITS:
The pay rate for this position is between $105,000 and $115,000, based on qualifications.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Direct the annual budget process and work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Operations, Development Director, Program Directors and the Board of Directors in development, oversight and monitoring of the annual agency budget • Strategize with leadership to implement and maintain fiscal plans for projects, program implementation, and agency mission objectives • Analyze financial trends, create projections of expected income and expenses, and generate scenarios for planning and decision-making purposes • Produce regular financial reporting and analysis of the agency’s financial standing to the Finance Committee and Board of Directors • Ensure that the organization has adequate financial and accounting policies, procedures and internal controls, that they are documented, well communicated and followed • Supervise the accounting staff and functions, including patient accounts receivable, grant and contracts billing, payroll, benefit accounting, purchasing and accounts payables and cash management • Supervise all fiscal reporting, contract review, and agreement renewals with government agencies, private foundations, and corporations to ensure accuracy and compliance with funding guidelines • Direct annual audit and Form 990 process • Manage the organization’s property and professional liability insurance coverage • Oversee bank accounts and activity, including monthly account reconciliation • Serve on the agency’s leadership team • Collaborate with other staff and maintain teamwork style, and maintain professional working relationships with clients or other outside agencies or contacts • Perform other tasks or projects as requested • Comply with agency’s written employment policies • Model behavior that is consistent with, and supportive of, healthy adolescent development • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness; and • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or 5 or more years of relevant work experience • Three to five years of financial management experience • 2-3 years of supervision experience required • Experience in fund accounting, non-profit management and management of complex financial systems • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections • Ability to work well with non-financial managers, as well as the ability to communicate with key stakeholders and funders of the organization • Ability to communicate financial information and to participate in management decision based on financial information • Proficiency in computer-based accounting systems as well as MS Excel • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to communicate clearly, compassionately, directly and openly • Strong people management and teamwork skills to effectively work through conflict, lead change and motivate employees • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate schedules and handle details • Experience developing and implementing systems, processes, or protocols • High degree of problem-solving skill • Ability to work effectively with external agencies and vendors • Ability to think strategically about the organization, its mission, and operations. • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.
